I’ve always been creative, from my early days as a renowned sellotape sculptor, to the intricate murals I painted on my bedroom walls using nail varnish (sorry Mum!). I have been drawing since I could hold a pencil.
Since then, being creative has become my ‘job’ and a dream one at that!
I have a background in Graphic Design and trained at Falmouth University, where I learnt how to think conceptually and be playful with ideas.
Since then I’ve realised my love was always drawing and now focus on illustration and hand lettering, but I still apply my creative thinking into my artwork. I always love an opportunity to be clever and hide extra levels of meaning into my work. My passions in illustration are children’s picture books and illustrative hand lettering.
You’ll usually find me drawing, making or exploring the great outdoors with my family. I love nature and find it incredibly inspiring and I’m fortunate to be surrounded by endless inspiration in the beautiful Cotswolds. I don’t think I have ever lost my sense of child-like wonder, and I love to look for magic in the everyday tiny moments.
Even before my children arrived I had already built a rather large picture book collection, which I now love to share with them. It feels so special to be able to add some of my own illustrated books to that collection.
